Auctions
Heritage’s weekly sports collectables auctions seem to fly a bit under the radar compared to their premiere auctions and can offer the budget-conscious collector some good deals: a signed iconic photo of Muhammed Ali can currently be had for under $200 and a 1940 baseball centennial first-day cover addressed to President Roosevelt currently has no bids.
The auction also offers signed checks, which are even more of a niche asset class than tickets, but offer a unique way to collect some legendary athletes signatures: a DiMaggio check, a Ted Williams check, and a Pistol Pete Maravich check all currently have bids under $500.
Meg – The Art of Boxing gallery has offerings that straddle the line between art and memorabilia. Their pieces include several real-life boxers, including Muhammed Ali and Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao and artist interpretations of the pugilistic sport.
